Solar panels can be connected into series strings of multiple solar panels to achieve a desired higher series voltage for system operation. These series strings can be combined together to feed one, or more, input buses on the inverter portion of the system. Combiner boxes are used to combine the series strings into more powerful (higher current) inputs to the inverter buses. This is how we can combine multiple strings of series connected solar panels to increase the amount of power we can get from an array. Junction boxes are used to transition power sources (both AC and DC) to another location
